I am planning on getting my tongue pierced soon and I was wondering if smoking will make the piercing get infected should I stop for a week or two or will it be OK?

If you can stop smoking for a week or two to let your piercing heal up, maybe you shouldn't start smoking again. But with any mouth piercing you have to swish with Listerine after EVERY cigarette and after consuming ANY food or beverages except for water. The person that pierces you, if a professional, will give you an aftercare sheet to refer to. Good Luck!

haha. I have my lip pierced and I had the same problem.
you want to wait for as long as you can after piercing it before you start smoking.
