Take the leap, the worst that will happen is that doesn't like you like that. Life is full of opportunity and chances, it is up to you to act on them. Or, you could spend the rest of your life wondering what if...

Well how old are you, at 10 you may punch him on the arm.

At 18 you may ask him out.

Find out if he likes you too.

Find some kinds of activities that you know the two of you are interested in and speak with him about the activities. This would work for any age of persons.

"Hi, (name!) I noticed that you like to do (activity.) How long have you been doing that? Would you mind showing me how to do that? Would you mind showing me how I could do that better?" Etc.

Or other words along those lines.

If you haven't already done so the best start is to just talk to him introduce yourself, look out for oportunities to start a conversation with him... flirt a little bit see if he flirts back...
