I lost a huge clot of tissue or somesuch.
Hi, I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have taken the medications prescribed off and on for a few years. I had been on birth control for 2 years to regulate but strayed from taking it for a few months. When I started having irregular periods again, I started back on the birth control. I am just starting a new pack (into my second month) and yesterday had the most intense pain I've ever experienced down there aside from labor. I truly felt like I was having contractions. I laid down for a while with my daughter and felt something pushing. I went to the restroom and a very large clump of tissue and blood came out. It was at least 4" long and about 2" wide. It almost looked like a sac of some sort with blood and tissue.

I am wondering if this was a misscarriage? I feel it is possible because I wasn't given an exam when I went back on my birthcontrol. I go to Planned Parenthood and they don't always require an exam or pregnancy test. Especially as I had just had a very light period the week I went in. It could also be scar tissue, but seems to be rather large to be just that. It was a very solid clump.

I am now spotting very lightly but then have sharp pains and heavy bleeding re-occurs for a short time. What do you think?

I am sorry to say this, and this is just my opinion. I am not a doctor or even in the medical field. But...
It sounds like you had a miscarriage. I am sorry. I have been through this and that is what happened to me. I passed a huge "clot" filled with tissue.
You need to call your ob/gyn tomorrow and let them know. They may want you to come in and get checked out. Especially since you are still having pain.

Again, I am not in the medical field, but from personal experience, that is what it sounds like to me.
