Auto accident at workplace lot w/uninsured driver
I live and work in seattle, Washington at a residential facility for vulnerable adults. My car was parked to the side of a driveway between two buildings at my workplace. Although it is not a designated parking spot, many employees park there. A visiting family member of one of the residents grazed the front passenger side of my car. The damage seemed minor--some scratches and one small dent. When I spoke to the driver, she claimed to be uninsured and driving with a suspended license. She offered to work something out and gave me her contact info and driver's license #. I told her I would need to check in with my workplace because it occurred on the job. What are my options around 1.) insurance claims? ; 3.) will this affect my insurance rates? ; 3.) do I need to file a police report and what would happen if I do so? The accident happened 3 days ago. I did not report this to my insurance or make a police report. Is it too late to file a claim or report, and how does this delay affect any claim or report made at this point? I'm waiting on a response from my workplace regarding the incident. I have been driving the car as usual since the accident. While I thought she merely grazed my car (I did not witness the accident), I am now hearing a strange noise when I make any sharp left hand turns that was not there before. I'm trying to give this family a break, but not at the expense of costly repairs.
