You turn it clockwise to install it. Is this what you're asking? Tom

How do I get my faucets to turn a little easier they are really hard to turn the water on and off the hot water is so hard that when I shut it off sometimes it pulls the whole stem out

You must have one heck of a mineral build up propblem. Shut off your main and pull the stems. Let them soak in a 50/50 mixture of vinegar or CLR. Brush with a brass brush or bristle brush and you should be good to go. Try to get an old tooth brush with CLR into the faucet where the stem sits.

Turn it all the way out before you tighten the packing nut or you will bend the stem?
