This is very odd. Looking into my ASDL Connection problems
Hi, I posted on here before about an intermittent connection
I'm using a neat gear router with two hardwired computers connected All computers lost connection, most the time the router didn't actually get disconnected, but I lost connection on the PC but sometimes it fully lost connection and had to reconnect,
Today I noticed my Line attenuation was very high so I rewired my phones lines as its on a hardwired extension, this new wiring system did reduce the attenuation somewhat but I'm still losing connection
How ever... I just noticed this
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 576 kbps 288 kbps
Line Attenuation 57 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 3 db 9 db
With this I have a good connection, everything works fine, then suddenly this happened
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 576 kbps 288 kbps
Line Attenuation 57 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 2147483644 db 9 db
Low and behold, the line drops, fully this time... Now correct me if I'm wrong but 2147483644 db is a HECK of allot of noise. So what on earth is causing this??
As far as I know its nothing in my house, as I even connected my router to the master phone socket and it still does it.
Is there some sort of massive pulsing magnetic field in my house or this there another cause? :p
Any ideas would be much appreciated as this is driving me mad
Many thanks ;)
