I have a duplex and the upstairs shower has just started leaking. It's the drain pipe and seems to be after the drain bath. To replace the pipe I would have to rip up the flooring of the shower and this would be costly. So my question is, can I use some form of glue or epoxy or something on the inside of the pipe to fill the crack - let dry and fix my problem. The crack is on the bottem of the pipe cause even a small amount of water causes the leak. I don't believe the crack is bad as large amount of water still produce the same amount of leaking water.

Good news/ bad news. You won't have to rip up the flooring, you will have to open the ceiling from below. The drywall is easy to patch compared to the flooring. Your drywall is probably already getting wet and must be replaced. No cement or epoxy inside the pipe. The leak is usually not the pipe but could be a fitting. Do you know if its PVC or galvanized?

Bals last question would have been my first. If you can't open it up to look then how do you know it's a crack on the bottom of the pipe? Regards, Tom

Firstly no dry wall Duplex entirely made of brick and concrete. Can't go through flooring - concrete slabs... I had to rip up tiles in the end and replace PVC pipes. Concrete flooring had shifted it would seem and cracked PVC pipe alone with it. Problem solved, thanks anyway
