    Implantation bleeding or period
Hi I am 24 years old and me and my husband are trying for our first kid. I last started my period on the 2nd of last month and this time I started light pink bleeding this morning I put a tampon in and still had light bleeding all day and little clot was on it when I took it out.. but what's weird is that for the past two weeks I have had pregnancy symptoms down to the tee. And I have been cramping but still no blood stream that is heavy. I tried looking for the answer on here but no ones was close to my question. I have normal periods and everything. Can some one please help me. I don't want to waste my money on a home pregnancy test right now if this may be my period. But I just feel like its not a period.. and help would be appreciated thanks!

When you say last month, do you mean April or May? I would say that if it is April, you should take a test. If it was May, wait another week and then test. Implantation bleeding is rare, and typically a normal discharge laced with a little blood. What you are describing, could be some light spotting from a pregnancy ( I have this) or it could be an oncoming period. I would say though, that if your last period was the 2 of April, then you should be taking an HPT and maybe even getting to a doctor for an exam. Good luck!

I would wait another day or two, by then you should know if the bleeding is going to get heavier, stay the same, or go away. Keep in mind that its not uncommon to get a weird period now and then, no matter how regular you have been in the past. Its not uncommon to be late, or even completely miss a cycle now and then. It could just be that this is a light period for you this month and its completely normal. Or it could be that you are pregnant. Or it could be other things. Like I said, I would wait a few more days, see how the bleeding goes, and then take a test if you feel that it is not a normal period. Never hurts to take a test, just for piece of mind. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

This doesn't sound like a pregnancy because implantation bleeding is very rare, although you will find tons of searches online it is VERY rare to have any bleeding from conception. I had spotting and I got the same idea as you about pregnancy that is why I say this to you not to get your hopes up. A lot of people will have spotting, blood clots, etc at some point in there life and it can be normal or caused by different things. Implantation bleeding is rare like I said and some doctors don't even believe in it, I have no one in my family that had it but it obviously does happen for some people but not a lot. Implantation will happen for only 1-2 days when or about when the period is expected and will be light pink, no blood clots at ALL! I had pink spotting before but it lasted me about a week and I also had some small blood clots that were dark and I was not pregnant but this was a first for me too.

If you don't get your normal period a week after your period is due take a test and then if it is negative wait another 2 weeks and take another test. Sometimes it takes much later for the test to work on some people. I know how frustrating it is not knowing if you are pregnant so it will not hurt to get the worries off your mind and be brave and take the test. I heard that the Walmart Equate brand which is off brand is better than most of the name brands in detecting HCG faster and being accurate, this test is only $6 at Walmart or you can buy a Clear Blue or a First Response which is about $10 but I really trust Equate and for $6 it is worth knowing if you are pregnant or not. Buy about 2-3 tests ($12-$18) and use one and save the others for later and if your regular period does come just save it because you will eventually need it again since you are trying to conceive, so this way you don't have to run to the store every time you think you may be pregnant. When we were trying to conceive I had a lot of symptoms and my period would often be late so it helped knowing that I had a test that I could take and not have to go to the store every time and then why I saw that I was not pregnant I was a little disappointed but it helps A LOT knowing instead of wondering about it constantly.

    Hope this helps!!
