Spouse taking kids out of state
My brother's wife just recently left him. She plans on taking the kids out of state with another man this weekend and he doesn't want her to. He went to the police and they told him that they could not tell him what to do, but that they recommended him to check the internet or an attorney. He doesn't have much money and asked me if I could check the internet. I have not been able to find much on this matter.
This is taking place in Anderson, SC
    Please Advise,
    Tommy

I am not sure about his divorce, but here is how mine goes. I can leave the state with the children for vacations, trps, medical etc. Since I am the custodial parent, I can take them where I please, as long as I come back. I cannot move out of state, unless it is okay with him or unless I can prove that it is hurting my livelihood to be here. That is how mine is, and I live in Illinois and my ex-husband lives in Michigan. He cannot have weekend visitation because of the distance, so he takes his turn during the month of July. I don't like that at all, but the court says I cannot keep my children from leaving with him unless he is unfit to supervise them alone.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello red:

If this is just a weekend your brother has no say in the matter.
