    Tcm replacement
    Need help removing the transmission control module on my 1992 honda accord, any suggestions? Anyone. I need to disconnect the wiring harness from the unit to be able to replace tcm with a new one...

    Be sure to disconnect the negative battery terminal first. On many Hondas, the TCM is not a separate module from the ECM. Once you have access, depress the connector release and, using a small screwdriver, carefully pry the female connector off. Do this for each harness connector.

    Look into buying a remanufactured TCM/ECM. It will be much cheaper than from Honda and you may be able to get one with a lifetime warranty, if you shop around.
