Good day. I have some fabric with "'Peacocks & Pines' printed in England for Warner & Sons limited from the Mandarin Tree Collection copyright by gruff" printed along the salvage edge. I've found some information on Warner & Sons in that it was a textile factory which came about in 1870, but nothing on the Mandarin Tree Collection or who 'gruff' may have been. Also any information on when this fabric was made would be helpful. Thank you. Jenny

I don't know anything about Warner, but maybe this will help. This is the Braintree Disctrict Council, they have an email address to contact them. Perhaps you could ask them some questions about the fabric. Also on there site I found this

Warner and Sons set up its business in Braintree at New Mills in 1895. Following a series of takeovers in the 1980s the company and its archive moved to Milton Keynes. In 2005 with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, other major charitable organisations and the generosity of individual donors the Braintree District Museum Trust, with the support of Braintree District Council, was able to return the archive to Braintree to the original site of New Mills.
