    Isn't there a first time offenders act?
    I was recently charged with a felony drug charges and I was wondering if there is a first time offenders act for the state of va for felonies?

    I've never heard of a first offender act anywhere. What would you expect this act to do, anyway?

    Certainly, in the sentencing guidelines for Va, note is taken that one does not have a prior record. That's almost the same thing.

    We don't have a first offenders program, but as Excon said... We do take into consideration that its your only charge. 99.9% of the time you can get a plea bargain and drop it from a felony if its your first charge and your lawyer doesn't have a dim light.
