Doxie JRT Cross very nearly stolen
Our pup, now 9 months old, likes to travel with us in our car. His digestive problems have settled down, making trips easier. Yesterday while he was alone in the car for a short time, a woman broke into our locked car and had removed him. Fortunately, she was discovered and her attempt to take him was foiled. A friend recently had her Jack Russell stolen out of her car in the same general vicinity. Apparently there is quite a market for these little dogs. We are going to have him micro-chipped but in the meantime, he's staying home.
What we would like to know, is there anyway to train this little guy, who loves everyone, to be a watch dog inside the car? Perhaps if he didn't stand up at the windows wagging his tail and growled and showed his ample teeth instead, he wouldn't be so vulnerable. We certainly don't want to make him nippy as he's lovely with children and other pets. Suggestions?
