    Unconventional faucet installation
I am installing a drop-in whirlpool. My wife has shown me design book pictures of two handle tub fillers installed with the spout in a different location away from the handles. Can off the shelf deck mount tub filler kits from Kohler or American Standard be adapted to this kind of installation or do I need to special order? If I need to special order, what do I order?

Kohler has one for $4002 in brass marked down from $5000. If you want chrome it's a steal at $3002.
Most deck mounted tub and shower valves have the spout connecting to the top of the valve body, However consider installing a one handle or two knob tub and shower valve wall mount directly above the rim of the whirlpool tub. You can plug off the bottom outlet and run your spout anywhere you want using 1/2" from the top outlet. Or I have plumbed in the faucets at the side where they can be reached while relaxing and placed the spout at the inside front corner And it's not going to cost thousands either.
    Good luck, Tom
