My 92 honda civic still isn't getting any spark?
I have a 92 honda civic lx and it won't get any spark, I replaced the coil and the igniter today. My mechanics working on it and told me that its probably the whole distributor. Ugh! Lol so does anyone know any other kind of trouble shooting for no spark? Please enlighten me asap:) by the way I have already done a tune up on it so I know its not that.

    Peace

    troypt,
I don't work on imports cars very often, but I had to trouble shoot a similar issue in a girlfriends '95 Civic about 3 years ago. Basically, what I found was the car wouldn't start in the morning when it was dewy or in the rain. I replaced the distributor cap and rotor - FIXED IT! This would be my first step if you are getting spark out of the coil but not to the plugs. Otherwise it could be an ignition module. Like I said, I don't work on imports very often and every manufacturer does this different, so I can't tell you where that is on a 92 Civic. I know that on both Ford and GM vehicles it's not uncommon for ingintion modules to fail - and they're extremely different designs from each other.
I highly DOUBT that you need a whole new distributor!

Everybody says distributor, main relay, igniter will cure all hondas. Don't be a fool and replace a distributor by guessing. Scope the pattern on the sensors and only replace if bad.
