    Underage marriage, children involved
My brother is 19 yrs old. His girlfriend is 16. They have a 9 month old son and he has been living with her , their son, and her dad since the baby was born. She just found out she's pregnant again. As soon as she found out for sure her dad said my brother is not allowed to be around her or the baby until she is 18. My brother is in another state working with his brother in law & has been gone for a few weeks. My brother is the only one in their house hold that works. His girlfriend is in school still, her dad gets a check monthly and he get the check that is suppose to go to her from when her mother passed away a year and 5 months ago. He is the main income and gives his checks to her dad and what's left goes to what the baby needs. He has been holding over their heads that he will let them get married in January only as a way of controlling them. They neither one know what to do. What can they do to stay together and raise their kids as well as possible. Im not even sure what to ask. Is there anything they can do about getting married now? Or about her becoming amancipated from her father?

Sounds like his girlfriend's father is not going to let her get married as he would lose his monthly income for her. Does she get state assistance? Some of that is bound to be helping him out. Unfortunately unless her dad agrees to sign for her to get married or she is able to get emancipated (have to go to court for that) the father is able to make the rules. They may always see each other when she is away from the house. It's a really difficult situation. Why weren't they using birth control with her being so young? Having another child right now is only going to compound the issue. Cathy

Your brother works so the best thing to do is for him to rent a place and then they can move in and she won't be having her father telling her what to do and its up to dem when they want to get mariied. The father can't stop your brother seeing his kids because he is there father at the end of the day. If I was in her shoes I would move out an my own place.
