    6 weeks pregnant and nervous.
I just found out that I am pregnant (the doctor quessed that I am 5 or 6 weeks) which is quite a shock beacause about 6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with insulin resistant polycycstic ovarian syndrome - basically that means that my ovaries were not functioning properly...

I am so excited to be pregnant because I suffered a traumatic miscarriage in September and had quite a few complications throughout the year...

I am writing because I have cramps that feel like menstral cramps - I have researched and asked the doctor. I have heard that they are normal but the anxiety ridden pregnant woman that I am felt the need to ask again... I have had these cramps for a little over a week now...

I am also wondering what can happen during a pregnancy if my progesterone levels are low? The doctor mentioned 6 weeks ago when I was daignosed with PCOS that if I have a positive pregnancy test I need to have my progesterone levels checked.. I saw the doctor on Monday and they drew blood to check my progesterone and hcg levels - there was some sort of mistake and I still have not heard the results of the blood test - could low progesterone levels cause me to miscarry again??

It might be healthful to know that I did have an uncomplicated pregnancy and carried my daughter to term four years ago.

    Thanks for answering my questions.

Those cramps, or "phantom cramps" as I call them, are normal. As long as they aren't followed by bleeding, you should be fine. I had them early on as well. As for the PCOS and pregnancy, this link may be helpful:
