    Discharge for years.
Hi! I am new to this site and would like to get help from the community to see what's the problem I have. I am 18 yrs old and have been having a discharge for quite a while now. It is a weird smell and do not know how to get rid of it. I have gone to the doctor, been on antibiotics and no help. This has been going on even before being sexually active, now that I am sexually active, after sex, I get a brown discharge for a few days and it goes away, yet the smell is still there. What could it be?. help please...

Go to gyno might be a yeast infection. Please do not self treat. Get a pap smear.

    NowWhat
I am not sure what all the causes of this are - but here is what happened to me.
I have a PH problem. When my PH balance is off - this will happen to me. It took a long time to figure out by my doctors. It got so bad that I actually suffered an infection in my falopian (SP?) tubes. At the time I had no insurance and just went to a dr. on call facility. Saw a random doctor and was told I had gotten an STD - which I wasn't sexually active at the time - but I guess those doctors hear all kinds of things and didn't believe me. I was given medication for STD's - when the test results came back - it wasn't that.
What I have mirrors a std - but actually the clinical term for it is Bacterial Vaginosis.
There is a cream that gets inserted - like for yeast infections and it clears up.
I have to be very careful about the soaps I use, the lubricants, etc.
    Hope this helps.
