Why do I have oil on my 2000 Power Stroke Diesel air filter?
When I chang the air filter on my 2000 Ford F350 Power Stroke I have a lot of oil on the air intake side. Where would the oil be coming from?

If it is on the outside part of the air filter, you may have a loose boost tube down near intercooler. Otherwise, it is not all that uncommon to see oil in the tube because the crankcase vent is right there connected to it. It is on the drivers side valve cover. Make sure you change your oil frequently and also check into the updated filter box for your truck. It has the oval-air filter, not the rectangle.

The oil is on the inside of the air filter where it is supposed to trap the dirt (not on the engine side of the air filter) so it is like I am following someone who is spraying oil out the back of the car??
