I turned my air on to cool the house down this evening and the thermostat is not on and therefore I can't get the air (nor the heat) on. What do I do?

If you are good at fixing things.. go to a hardware store and by a new one... my hubby has done this several times over the years. And be sure to keep the warranty. Good luckQuote:

There is a simple procedure in the sticky at the top of the forum to isolate thermostat/furnace problems. Buying a new thermostat would cure the dead battery problem. It will not cure a blown fuse in the 24 volt control wiring or a fried transformer. Newer furnaces have an automotive type blade fuse on the circuit board near the air filters.
