    Deprovera shot (Birth Control)
I was wandering if it was normal for deprovera to act up. I have not had a period since I took my first depo shot and I didn't know if that was normal! I haven't had any of the symptoms like gaining weight, but I am worried I was supposed to have already had my period?

Oh, dear it is VERY normal not to get a period while on Depo. I did not have one for nearly 5 years. It is just one of the common side effects.

But that can not be healthy not to have your period like that? Isn't your period supposed to help clean out a woman's system? I don't know if this is a very healthy BC to be on! But I can't ever remember to take my pills that's why I'm on this shot!

I was told by my gyn doctor it was normal not to have a period while on the depo provera shot. The doctor gave it to me 2 days after child birth and 1 month had period. January stopped bleeding then discontinued shot in march still no period until September irregular bleeding massive weight gain(40lbs in 1 yr.) while taking depo provera.Period three times this month. Some bleeding only when I use the bathroom. But I don't know if it is normal. No sex drive at all Maybe some one come explain this to me . I would recommend depo because chances on getting pregnant is depending on the person slim to none. But massive gain weight irregular periods cramping. I would think twice before getting it again.
