Oven latch won't allow door to shut
I have a GE electric stove. My daughter tried to auto-clean the oven she moved the latch from left to right and started the cleaning cycle. Then later during the cycle decided she needed the oven she shut the switch off but did not wait for the oven to cool before using a screwdriver to force open the door latch back to the left. Now the door will not close all the way. Making the oven useless. How do I get the locking latch back where it belongs? It seems to be about 3/8 of an inch from where it should go. It hits the door beside the slot it should go into. Any ideas?:mad:
