Honda Civic 2006 change oil message - removing
Can someone tell me how to get rid of the maintenance message on my dash? I changed the oil but the message indication the % of oil life will not go out. I cannot read my odometer. Thanks.

    Home mechanic(?)

There is a reset button on your dash, not sure where on a Honda, but on my Buick its to the left of the odometer. Push and hold it until it resets itself. If you can't find it, look in your owners manual, or call your dealer. When you take it in to Pennzoil, they reach in and reset it. Maybe have them change your oil once, and they will show you where it is.

You have a 2006 Honda so it should be under warranty, yes? I would take it to a Honda dealer or call them and ask them and they should definitely re-set it for you. It should have been done by the last person who changed your oil though.

I have a 05 odyssey - so not sure if this will apply, but

Press the knob next to the odometer to the oil change screen
Then hold it down till it blinks
    Let go for a second
Then press again and hold for around 5 seconds

Works for the van , hope it works for you
