    Shower Stall
We just replaced our bathroom floor in the basement but we are having a problem with getting a shower stall. The problem is our drain is 18" from the wall and all shower stalls we have looked at are either 12" to 17". Does anybody know where we can get the proper shower stall. We live just east of Oshawa Ontario.

You will get helpful advice from Home Depot, there is one in Whitby.

Well, short of breaking up the floor and moving the drain to the correct location, your only other option is to fur the walls out to meet the back and sides of a new stall.

I don't think that you have to do either. A !8" drain from the wall works out to a 36" wide shower base. Now just tell me how long you want it and I'll direct you to a link that has a base that will set a 18"drain. Regards, Tom

Speedball, I wouldn't have suggested Home Depot if I had not received good advice from them in the past. Although they are not plumbers they were knowledgeable enough to sell me the correct hardware and direct me to a good local plumber.

Unfortunately in this case, it didn't work out... employees at Home Depot have off days too !

"Our shower stall was 3 feet by 3 feet wide and 6 feet 3 inches min and 6 feet 8 feet max".
Are you giving me the measures for the replacement base or what you had installed? Would you please give me the exact measure of the size of the base you wish to replace? (Width X Length) Are you going to tile or do you need a enclosure?
Tickle, I wasn't targeting your particular Home Depot. They might be great guys but we have had to correct a lot of bad plumbing advice coming out of the big box stores. Regards, Tom
