Should I ask her out?

I ran into a girl I know, not too well but I use to help her with some math like 2 yrs ago. We also worked together one summer and went to the same high school. But anyway, I ran into her on the subway, we talked and within 5 minutes we were on our way to a coffee place to hang out before class. We just small talked a little and that's it. Then the same day, met each other again on the subway by chance, but she was with a friend. We ended up saying loosly that we should met up before class the days we start at the same time. Anyway, I didn't run into her for 2 weeks. Last Thursday, I met her again. This time we went to hang out but it wasn't to small talk, it was just to review for a test since it was early before class. During the time together we didn't talk much, but I did flirt with her and tease her and all that. Anyway, I got her # but I didn't ask for it as if I was going to "call her" or anything like that, I got it so that I have it in case something comes up. Anyway before I left I commented that what we just did didn't count as us hanging out for a coffee, since we didn't really talk too much. So I said we should meet up next week a little earlier before class so we can have that coffee and chat more. She said well it depends on what time I leave or if I come to school since it will be the class after her test and she doesn't do much in class. So I really didn't continue on the subject just said somethingelse and dismissed it... so my questions are, was this a turn down? And also, I'm not planning on running into her this week, so should I call her up next week and ask her to get together one night? Any comments or suggestions about the situation are welcome.

Why she wasn't sure she would be there are not. You were there, maybe you'de have a better feel for it. The worst she could respond is no or I'm too busy etc... on the other hand

Sometimes you need a good kick in the pants you know. You may not read into the fact that you bumped into her a few times by chance, but I do. It's set up for you to at least try. Quit waiting to bump into her again and definitely call her and invite her out for a drink or two or maybe even dinner. It has to be spontaneous and it has to be sooner rather than later. Your main goal in your description of your situation is to get more time alone with her. That's not going to happen during school hours or before so you have to improvise.

Whatever way you want to phrase it is up to you, but you must ask her out.

Yeah and when you call, start the conversation asking about her test! Doesn't that seem sensible?

So I called her Monday... she was at the gym, we talked 2 minutes, I teased her but then I said so we'll talk another time. She said ill call you back when I'm finished. 40 minutes later she called, so we talked, and I asked her to go do something... she was like ahhhhh I would but you do know I have a boyfriend right. She even went to the extent of saying well I can always ask and see but I don't think he will like that too much. In my head I was like whaa... anyways we talked more for some reason she wasn't bothered and talked to me like I was her buddy. Then she had a call waiting so she said hang on. 10 sec later it hung up... then 10 minutes later she called me, but I was busy and missed it. She left a message, "sorry about b4 my phone went crazy anyways you can call me back if you want"... an hour later I returned her call. I kept it very short, to no surprise she was still very talkative and receptive of me, even after everything. Anyway I've been turned down by girls having bf's but when this was happening I was thinking to myself, something isn't right here it never happened this way before. Usually girls would be sorry I have a boyfriend and then go about their own business. This girl was calling me joking around flirting, still giving me attention after she tells me she has a boyfriend when I ask her out. She is up to something? She went way beyond just being 'nice" with me, maybe to the extent that she might be intrested to some extent... I don't know am I missing something here?

She didn't turn you down, or put you down, which is a great start. She may like you, you never know. Keep in good touch with her.

But you must be cautious.

Just think, if she treats you like this while she has a boyfriend, what will she do, behind your back, if she makes you her boyfriend.

Well what do I do now, pursue her? Like you said if she is treating me that way, I might have a chance to pull a switcheroo... plus I won't see her anymore because class ends next week... where do I go from here to make something happen

I did ask her to go for coffee, that's when she said she had a boyfriend... and she was not creeped out, probably happy I asked because she does like me because the way she acts around me and what had happened that day with her calling me and leaving message and so on. But I guess the boyfriend is causing the hesittation. Just because girls have bf's they still are attracted to other guys they like, but not all act on it.
