    Back Sales Tax Liens
My finance owned a Dairy Queen for many years, but sold it in 1995. Come to find out and after running his credit report for the first time in 10 years he has about three pages of State tax liens from Back sales tax due. We have contacted the state many times for proof of how much he actually owes, but our questions remain unanswered. Currently his son is preapproved to purchase his home of twenty years. I would like to know how we can find out if the title to his home is free and clear. Any help would be appreciated. We reside in Missouri

You have a title search done at the county court house where the property is located, ( I spent my morning doing just that)

You can go down and review, but if you are not up on it, you can hire a title company, a title researcher or a title attorney to review the documents at the recorder of deeds, and the property tax office at the county court house
