I ran into the back of a truck on May 17, 2007, the truck was barely hurt at all, but my car was toning up in the front. I had canceled my old insurance on April the 26, 2007 not realizing the new insurance would not go into effect until May 21, 2007. I was wondering could the man truck I hit which is Nationwide also fix my car and him truck? I called my Nationwide and they said that there is nothing could be done about getting my car fixed. When the accident happen the man got out saying it was his fault he had to suddenly stop to keep from hitting the car in front of me, and he tells the officer I had no other choose but to hit him.

I don't think that you will get away with that. I am surprised that the police don't take action, as such you were driving while not insured and if you had hit someone and damaged their car or God forbid a person, the claim would have been against you.

That said, all you and the truck driver can do is submit a report about the accident to his insurers. However, I think that they ( the insurers) will query about your lack of cover. Take care with the claim and good luck

You hit someone in the back of their car, and you want their insurance to pay for it. I am sorry still laughting.

Of course their insurance is not going to pay for it, and nationwide is going to sue you for all of the damages to his truck and if he had any medical expense, perhaps a day or two latter for a sore neck you will be paying for that also.

And you are going to have to pay for all for the damages to fix your own car.

And it does not matter of course you did not have to hit him, you are by law suppose to be far enough back you can stop without hitting him, if he does stop too fast.

So I hope you have money in the bank, since if you can't write a check to pay for his damages they will be holding it out of your paycheck.

I asked the police should I get a ticket and she said no, it was no one at fault.

You won't go to jail but I can't believe anyone would say this wasn't your fault, you were traveling too close for conditions. You did the hitting, not him, its your fault. His insurance company would normally go after you and they still may.
