Basement Shower Rough-in Dilemma
I have been adding a basement bath, and have only the shower drain to run before the concrete goes back down. I am a DIY’er and am a little nervous about the exact placement of the drain. I have gotten the specs for the shower were going to get and have marked where the drain should go. I have taken into account what I think the framing will be when making these measurements. My concern is some unknown will arise which will make my measurements off. I think I have 3 options here, and wanted to get the boards feedback.
1. Go with the measurements I have taken, and see what happens.
2. Don’t pour the concrete in a little area under the shower and don’t install the line until ready to finish the bathroom, and then mix up a bag of ready mix concrete to finish the floor.
3. Add an inch cushion to each direction of my measurements and then shim out the wall framing during final installation.
Thanks
