    Low sperm counts
    My husband went to test and dh said he has low sperm count.My question is that does the mode of collection affect the volume.My husband had to collect it by himself and he said it wasn't easy.the volume was 2.1ml.the doc said his sperm count is low.

    1.Do you think that if the mode of collection was through sex,would the volume be higher and thus affect his count.
    2.Do you think I still could get pregnant if we continue trying naturally.
    3.I can't get insurance till Nov,the doc said I shld go for a test and if I am OK,we shld try artificial insemination.
    4.the doc said he can't prescribe any drugs for my husband until I have been certified OK,he also said the drugs success rate is low.Is there any vitamin that can work.

    I am sorry to hear about your situation. I know it is probably a "blow" to the hubby's ego. Please be patient with him.

    Now to answer your questions:

    1) No, the collection method does not matter, this is why they docs do it the way they do;
    2) Yes, you can still get pregnant, it may be more frustrating, and take longer, but it may still be possible, however, for a more definitive answer you will have to ask his doctor;
    3) I have no answer here, you should wait until November when you get your insurance.
    4) I am sorry to tell you that this is a natural occurrence and that there is no vitamin that will increase sperm production.

    If you do not have insurance until November, it would be wise to wait to attempt getting pregnant until that time as some insurances will not cover it as it can be considered a pre-existing condition.
