    1990 Civic won't start cold.
My civic is having problems starting cold. It needs carb cleaner sprayed into the throttle body to start, Once it warms up, it takes about 3 or 4 tries before it starts again. The main relay has been replaced along with the air temp sensor on the manifold. I notice that the choke is always closed. Is this a problem?
I'm also getting the error code 16.

Code 16 is a problem with the fuel injector circuit.

    1. Reset the ECM.
    2. Start engine and allow to warm up.
    3. Is the CEL on and does it indicate a code 16? If yes, start engine and listen for the clicking sound from each fuel injector. Use a mechanic's stetoscope. Turn engine OFF. For any injector that did not click, disconnect the 2P connector and measure the resistance between the two terminals of the injector. Is there 10 to 13 ohms? If not, replace the injector.

The choke seems to be working fine.

Everything I've checked seems to point to the Injectors. Problem is finding the injectors in Tampa is a problem. I will have to order them off the internet. For now I'm heading to a salvage yard and see if I can find some used injectors and give them a shot. If not then I'm going to spend some cash and order new injectors. At least I'll eliminate the suspision.

Went to the junk yard today and pulled a handfull of fuel injectors for $40.00. Came home and replaced the auxillary/lower injector and the Honda cranked right up! It starts first try now every time! Not bad for a Jeep guy!.

Thanks again for your help, dAvE:cool:
