    Don't understand probation
I am on probation for 5 years. I just signed my terms and conditions form and it doesn't say nothing about drinking alcohol. So I drank a couple of beers. My friends say I shouldn't do it so I called the po and he says don't drink. What the heck? It doesn't say that on my form. Can he just change the terms and add stuff? How can that be a violation when it doesn't say nothing about it from the judge.

    Hello Bry:

I agree. Call your lawyer and go back to see the judge to get clairification, or obey the PO. There isn't any middle ground. The cheaper way to do that would be to keep drinking. The PO will violate you, and you'll sit in jail waiting to see the judge. I think the first way is better.

Are you over 21? If not, then definitely don't drink as you'd be breaking the law. If you are, you should be able to drink in moderation under two conditions: 1.) don't drive when you've been drinking and 2.) that your offense that got you put on probation wasn't alcohol-related and you don't have any history of alcohol-related offenses.

I'm over 21, it was not a alcohol related offense. How will he even know if I drink?
