    Smoky smell
I recently bought a house and I've noticed that the upstairs often smells of cigarette smoke. I haven't actually seen anyone smoking outside, so I can't identify exactly where the smoke might be coming from. Is there a more effective way than filters for me to get rid of the smoke smell? Thanks.

Charcoal. Believe it or not. Put some charcoal brickettes on a paper plate and leave it in the area where you smell the smoke. It will help, at least temprarily, while you go find the smoker. Good luck.

But, even once I find the smoker, I can't keep them from smoking. Any long-term solutions?

I live in NE Florida where we are currently experiencing numerous brush fires. I put and electrostatic air filter in my a/c unit and afterwords inside the house you can't smell any smoke. The one I got was about twenty bucks or so, one size fits all. I cut it down with scissors and stuck it in. They say to pull it out once a month and wash and dry it.
