    Unexplained Infertility

I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years now, and nothing.
    I'm 19 and my husband is 21.
I have had every test done and none of the doctors I have seen thus far can tell me anything, other than they know nothing.
I was wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing.
If so, I would like to know how you overcame this.
I have heard about some foods that can make you infertile, but I really don't know what they would be.
Anything that you can tell me that would help, please let me know.
    Thank you.
    Lesa

I have never heard of any FOODS that make one infertile. You have been trying since you were 16? Hmmmmmmm

    Has your husband undergone testing?

Yes, because I have been married since I was 16.
I have heard of foods that can help boost the chances and perhaps, ones that can hinder it.
Yes he has, and he is fine.

If you both have been tested and all is fine, then I would say that timing may be off. Do you know when you ovulate?

My mother tried for 7 years before she became pregnant with me, after that all she had to do was look at my Dad and she was pregnant.

Sometimes it takes patience and persistence. Stressing over pregnancy will hinder the chances of it happening.

Well, I have been diagnosed with Unexp. Infert. And my periods are wayyyyyy off.
(I.E I can go 5 months without one, so therefor I don't ovulate at the same time every month.)
But I DO track the BBT, CM and such.
So yea, they just have no idea.

    Hmmmmmm, that is a predicament.

Am I correct in assuming you have seen fertility specialists?

Not for treatment, no. It is impossiable to find insurance that covers it.

Did they do a HSG to ensure your tubes are clear? There is abook called The Infertility Diet. Some people swear by it, I personally think it's a sales gimmick and might have some kind of placebo affect, maybe.

Have the Doctors not given you any fertility drugs?
  • May 16, 2007, 10:55 AM
    Myth
Now I know of an herb that works like taking the pill everyday, and you pretty much do the everyday thing with it in a tea. I know of foods that are sapposed to help you to conceive twins but I don't recommend that either... I would however recommend going to
Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com
It will help you watch your cycle for good ovulation days.

I have done everything I can, and as far as I know, the doctors habe also. They have nop put me on fert. Drugs because my insurance won't cover it. That is also something else I have to find out about. I already do chart my cycles, the BBT and CM.

    Have they ruled out endometriosis?

Have you had your thyroid checked?
Yeah, I know, sounds crazy, but it caused my sisters infertility.
Have it checked if you haven't already.

I would ask about the cost for a few months of fertility drugs. Even if you have to save up or take out a loan it would be worth it for a little one. (if you have already done so disregard this post)

    Fertility drugs are REALLY EXPENSIVE.

To go through fertility treatments all the way to IVF costs more than a brand new car.

I don't know about you, but MY bank wouldn't back that sort of loan.

It would be helpful to know what tests have already been run, to see which, if any, might have been missed. Fertility drugs are not effective for everyone, depending on the diagnosis, and GYNs can only run certain tests under most insurance plans.

There may be an explanation, but without a complete diagnostic workup you wouldn't know what it is. You can call around to fertility specialists and see if you can afford to pay cash for a workup, and which tests you still need. My RE was able to push a number of tests and even a surgery through insurance for me because I was having pain associated with the cause of my infertility.

Hi Lesa, My husband and I have been Trying to conceive for 2 yrs. Now, after about a yr. my OB referred us to an Infertility Spec. They have ran every possible test on us as well and we have been put into the category of unexplained infertility. It didn't work for me but one of the first Inf. Drugs that my OB put me on was Clomid, my ins. Covered it, but even if yours doesn't it is rather inexpensive especially compared to injectables. We are doing artificial insemination in about 2 weeks. Once again my ins. Covers it, but while sitting in the waiting room, there was a pamphlet on financing. Trust me these Doc's know that not every ins. co. covers these procedures and most people cannot pay out of pocket, so they develop very low interest rate loans to help you out... See if your OB can refer you to an Infertility spec. and give them a call about financial asst. I know how devastating it is mo. After mo. but good luck and stay positive!

OK welll I read in this book you that if well they did a test and found out that if a guy looks at two guys and a girl in a book or porno then they put out more sperm then if they just did it or looked at 2 girls or all of the above so try that and even watch one with him spice it up some to see if its him and not you. You may work and he is broken did you ever get the doc to look at his tool in the box.
