In trying to flush out my hot water heater (which worked!) I've broken the hot water heater faucet. It was a cheap plastic that I seemed to over torque. Any way to repair these or do I have to get a new water heater?

Shut off the fuel and the supply water. Try capping it with a brass garden hose end cap. Now restart your heater.
