    Texas Eviction
I live in Texas and I am behind on my rent. My landlord has given me 7 days to vacate. What legal procedures does he have to do? I have received no written communication, only verbal. He called and said to vacate tomorrow Tuesday 05/15/2007. Can he do this and what options do I have?

Well in Texas he is likely to tie you to the back of a horse and send you out into the desert ( saw that on a movie)

But to evict you, he will have to take you to court and get a court ordered eviction.

Saw the same movie. Your landlord can say anything he wants to and it might scare you into leaving. I think that's what he is doing. You did not specify, how late are you? Do not pack up just yet but do you plan to pay him? If you really want to stay offer a payment plan. He may not take it but a vacant building doesn't help him either.
