Hello all, this is quite an embarrassing thing to ask, I'm 20 years old and have a small hard lump about half an inch above the base of my penis, I was wondering what this is, I've read a lot of the questions but these all refer to on the penis shaft or head or foreskin. I thought it might be an inflamed hair follicle because that is the most common response, but I don't think that it should be hard... I've only noticed it 2 days ago, any help?

It could be the hair follicle thing or a cyst thing? It could be a pimple? If it came up in two days I don't think it would be something too serious. I would watch it for a few days, see how it goes, if it changes or stays the same... I would go to the doctor!

Does it itch or is it painful?

It is not itchy and is not painful, unless I put pressure on it it feels a bit annoying but not painful..

Unfortunately pain is a good thing when it comes to bumps. I would keep a watch, but make an appointment to see a doctor. If it is gone before the doctor app, cancel it. Just my opinion.

It could be part of going through puberty. Your glands are constantly changing and sometimes you get lumps and bumps around your penis and testes,
If it gets painful you need to see a doctor . It might pass in a few days or so. Keep an eye on it but you might have to see a doctor as that is part of life.

I have same problem.. I am 21 and I have like a knot or I don't know bump above my penis. I only noticed it like 2 days back.. its kind of itchy and when I touch its painful

I have the same problem, but I have 2 either side of it. About 2 cm diagonally out (towards my hip bone). They have been there for a few months.

Hey I notice this two days ago myself I am assuming it's a knot because I just started working out heavily again after being off for about 5 months. I have been massaging it and it seems to be decreasing in size. There is a mild to low discomfort when massaging it out which I think is normal, because I have had other knots on my biceps and they feel similar.

I'm 18 and have a kind of hard probably nickel size like knot above my penis like not even a inch away it hurts when I touch I tried poping it to see if I could get puss out I got a little out but still hurts, I am a diabetic so I got a needle and shanked it ha got some out but now hurts and you any ideas what it could be?

Well I have the same thing. On the flat area above my penis where I shave I'v had various bumps appear. It could be due to heat I do run a lot. Or it could be shaving bumps. Coca butter can help it. Also make sure bacteria doesn't get in or around it. I actually popped the bump. I took a small knife and white stuff squirted out I guess it was a small zit? Or cyst of some sort? It wasn't infected I thought infection was the color of green? Well be careful when you shave because shaving a certain way can cause these bumps.

Same problem here, it hurts when I put pressure on it! I just kindof ignore it though. But it is sore! I don't know what to do and I don't want to go to the doctors
