In the newly formed "Command Prompt" window, type the following "chkdsk /f" and hit enter.
It will ask something along the lines of "Do you want to run this on the next boot", hit the letter "Y" on your keyboard.
Reboot your system, and on boot, Windows should do a scandisk and fix any errors it finds.
Thank you for the information. I will try that first thing in the morning.
Thanks again,

Windows Xp doesn't have the old Scandisk anylonger, so now you need to do a Checkdisk. So go to run and type chkdsk. You can also find the file in Windows\System32. This will run it in reader only mode though so do as Flakzeus said.
I did as directed and the disk check was still canceled. I did a hp PC system recovery and all I did was lose the driver for my new video card and I can't find my disc with the driver on it.
Thanks,
Temperlou
