Okay, I used to watch this movie a lot when I was younger. It's an animated movie, and it was about a little boy, and he rode around on his bed, and went to a magical land or something, met a princess and santa cluase (or someone I always thought was santa) and he had a key to a door that he wasn't supposed to open, but he did (kinda like pandoras box) and there was this monster that was all black and it scared the crap out of me. That's basically all I can remember, If you could give me some movie titles and I can check them out on imdb that would be great thanks!

EDIT: I FOUND IT!! It's called "Little Nemo" (1989) god that was driving me crazy, thanks for the help though.
