I have a pier and beam lake house that uses a gate valve for the main water shut off. It leaks and I want to replace it. What is the best kind of valve to use for this? Ball or gate or other. It will be installed in a PVC line.

I'm partial to 1/4 turn full port ball valves.
Much easier to turn off.
Occasionally iamgrowler and I agree 100%. Ball valves leak much less.
Y'know, the percentage wouldn't be so lopsided if you had even a shred of respect for experience and practical in-the-field knowledge, Labman.Quote:
