I'm a novice do-it -yourselfer. I'm trying to replace a new shower but the new valve I purchased does not line up with the old cooper piping supply lines. It is 1/2" cooper and is off about 3/4" on either side of the fixture. Can Cooper piping be bent slighting and if so how? Thank you.

Do you mean "copper" pipe? Yes, it can be bent. There is a special tool for that purpose so the line doesn't kink. Available at most hardware stores. Good luck!

It depends on the type of copper that you're using. On soft copper the tool Captain Rich's referring to is called a bending spring.
Hard copper can be bent slightly by heating the area until it's hot enough to bend a bit, but first all the water must be out of the pipe.
While you can make a 90 degree bend with soft copper you can't make much more then a 30 or 40 degree bend on hard copper. Good luck, Tom
