    2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer
    "Hello,
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. It has the control
On the rear view mirror that when activated, allows you to keep
The headlight switch on all the time. There's a sensor that then
Activates the headlights automatically when it gets dark and
Shuts off the lights when it is light. It also controls the length of
Time the lights stay on after you shut off the engine. Recently,
This functions has quit and when I shut off the car, the reminder
Buzzer buzzes that I've left the lights on , and the lights no
Longer go off automaticaly. I think that when the switch is on,
Even though I have the switch on on the reaer view mirror, the
Lights go on in the daylight. So, it seems that the auto light
Function no longer works. Any thoughts about this?

Also, this car has the original high end radio/CDplayer/tape
Player. After about a year of dimming and going off and on
Intermittently, the lights telliing me what station is on, what CD/
Tape is playing, and the clock light have gone off permanently.
Is it worth getting it fixed, or should I just replace it. I'm
Concerned that by replacing the AM/FM part of this unit, I would
Lose all of the other functions of the unit that compose the entire
Bottom part of the radio unit on the dash. Any suggestions about repairing it or replacing it? Thanks for your input.

DON'T CHANGE OUT YOUR RADIO!! IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A RADIO COMPATIBLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS. I had same problem in my 99 Eddie Bauer and was referred to SHAREAMEMORY.COM, clink on the 'radio fix' link and go from there. There are two options, if you're a fix-it-yourselfer, try to resolder the points, (the instructions were $20), or if you try that a couple times to no avail, opt for the board swap out ($80 with a $20 refundable deposit) It literally took me 10 minutes to swap the board out and the radio display is on for good now!! Been strong for the past two months!
