    Air conditioning thermostats
We just had a new gas pack put in new thermostat and all. I have it set on78 for the ac. It just keeps on getting colder and colder till the temp in the house finally reaches about 70 to 72 is it supposed to be that big a variation in the temp before it goes off?

Call the people back that did the install. The thermostat is not working properly and that could be caused by many things.

Wow if you just paid to have a brand new unit installed and the company will not come back there is a problem somewhere. Most digital t-stats are not adjustable. The older stats have a anticipator.

There is a 3-5 degree differential on the temp setting on a thermostat if inside the t-stat is a round dial with a wire around it you can change when the unit goes on or off
