I live in a 32 year old home and in the process of replacing the paneling on the wall of the kitchen I came across a pipe I am unable to identify.
The wall is where the water is provided for the ice maker. From the foundation, there is a primary copper pipe that Ts off and connects two other copper pipes which return back into the foundation. The primary copper pipe continues on and then is T'ed to provide a pipe to attach tubing for the icemaker. In essence, there a total of three copper pipes which are coming from the foundation.
Directly adjacent to the main copper pipe is a one inch PVC pipe also coming from the foundation for a length of about 6 inches. For whatever reason, the PVC pipe and the primary copper pipe were duct taped together.
What is the purpose of this PVC pipe coming from the foundation.
