My boyfriend signed a paper to voluntary relquish his parental rights.
My boyfriend voluntary gave up his righs to his daugther. She is 6 fixing to be 7. Her mother placed her with her grandma a little after she was 9 months old. My boyfriend worked a lot and mostly out of town so he wasn't here to fix what happened and that time you can say young and dumb. (I know this cause the mom was my best friend) So they split up 2 years ago and the mom always fought him to not see her and to stay away. Well the grandma took them both to court and the child lives with grandma and they can visit for four hours 2 days out of the month and no holidays. My boyfriend was going to see her at grandmas quite often and everything was OK and then the grandma suddenly went off the roof mad. Started screaming at him in front of his daugther telling him what a worthless father he was he was no good to her and so on. Mind you the child is in front them the whole time this is going on. He went to the police station to tell them what happened to see if he could see his child and get them to stop acting that way in front of the child. The officer said there was nothing he could do and by the looks of it she would never calm down he would have to call the police every time and eventually a report would be made but he left it alone so his daughter didn't have to go through that. So he signed a paper to relquish his parental rights it was signed in February 20 of this year. It's still sitting in the court nothing has been done. In the papers we have it reads like this: THIS AFFIDAVIT IS REVOCABLE ONLY IF THE REVOCATION IS MADE BEFORE THE ELEVENTH DAY AFTER THE DATE THE AFFIDAVIT IS EXECUTED. Does anyone know what this means? Does he have time to get rid of the papers? We live in Texas. Just wanted some help or ideas if anyone knows if this can be changed before the real action takes place. And since the mother is not willing to give her rights up will the grandparents be able to still adopt the child with the mom still in the way? Just so everyone knows I did not want him to give her up I love her as if she was my own I took care of her for a while before she was placed back with grandma. I want him to have her back and we just deal with whatever comes our way.

The answer which was given to your boyfriend is correct. He signed a paper to voluntary relinquish his parental rights in 20th of February and if he wanted to annul his relinquish he had to do it up to the 2nd of March. Now he has NO rights and his child can be legaly adopted by another man... The mother has right not to allow him to see his child.I am interested why he sighned his relinquish??
