    Unwanted red tones
Hi. I have red tones from lifting and then depositing color back into hair. My natural color is about a 5N or 6N and I have tried (unsuccessfully) to pull anything but red. Green will cancel red, I know, but where is this "green-based" color?? According to my knowledge (which apparently is running short : ) any color with "G" is gold based. I am at a total loss. What is a good color, or formula for a toner, to get rid of this @#%! Red?
Sheepishly, I admit I have a license, so I'm able to go to beauty supply. Thank you!

Yes, if your hair has too much red tone, you will need to use an ash with a green-base. Ash colors are blue, green, and violet/purple. Therefore, it doesn't say green-base on the box, but it will say A for "Ash". Just choose an ash base color that's close to your original color if you want to neutralize the red tones in your hair.
