If a parent gives up parental rights, does that parent still have to pay child support ?
Hello mr:
Of course. Go to your local courthouse. Do you see a line of people outside trying to get out of their parental obligations?? If you could, don't you think there would be a line of people??
Come on, mr. Take care of your kids.

Why would you think otherwise? This issue is discussed in umpteen threads here. You can't legally abandon your children.
I think the only way to not pay child support is if your child is adopted by someone else. Is that the case?
Not quite. There are two ways to legally remove the obligation to pay child support. One way is to have the child adopted by other parents. The other is to have the custodial parent agree to forego child support.Quote:

Usually because the non-custodial parent represents a danger to the parent and/or child. In other cases, the mother, doesn't want the father to even know about the child for a variety of reasons.
