I just recently got a phone call at work about a judgment that I had against me in 98 over breaking a lease by leaving before my 60 day notice was up so they garnished my wages and got there money but now they are telling me that ten years later they didn't get all there money and if I want to pay off my balance I can but if not they can go after me for all the years accumulated interest plus my left over balance is this possible I have already had a garnishment against me and paid it with this company can they come after me again??

A judgement is good for 10 years, so the 98 judgement would still be valid. If they did not get the entire amount and you still owe, then most likely they can, but they can only collect to the amount allowed in the judgement, you should have a record of all the money they garnished, and a copy of the judgement, what is the difference, are they equal.

If they were paid in full, then you have a case, if not, you do have a right to file various motions if they are asking for interest no included in the original judgement.

** also be sure this is not a fraud, there are fake collection firms that find your info online or in court records, and latter act like they are that company to try and make you pay them when you don't owe, and they are not even that company.
