    Network printing
Ok, I've got the network functioning - go ahead, pat me on the back. I can even share files - wow. But I can't get the printer to print from the laptop. The printer is connected to the desktop, driver is installed on both, on both the printer is marked for sharing, and I can print from the desktop. So why can't I print from the laptop? Both computers are using XP, and the printer is an HP.

Type \\[i]desktop computer name[i]. Then right click on the printer and click connect.

Is the printer on the network your default printer. Also make sure it's not being block by one of the computers firewalls. Does your laptop detect the printer connected to you desktop. Also did you set your printer as a shared as item on your desktop.

Also if using a ADSL network modem make sore it's connected to this if you can.

What happens when you are trying to print? Any messages. How did you install the driver on the laptop? I've found the best way to install a printer shared from another PC is to setup a TCP/IP port using the IP address of the desktop.
