    Theft and stuff
A while ago I was charged with theft under 5000 + possession of property obtained by crime. I recently went to court but they said that the cops did not send in the files or something so they had no record of it. The judge gave me a letter saying I appeared in court and told me that I am free to go but they may issue a summons to call me back. What is the likelihood of being called back? And, if I send a letter to the police asking for my fingerprints to be wiped, will it increase the likelihood of them filing the charges? I live in Ontario Canada if that helps..

It sounds like your case was dismissed without prejudice due to lack of evidence, they have the right to re-file and most likely will. Why would they wipe your fingerprints? They obviously must have enough evidence to charge you so it's really a matter of if someone gets their act together and prepares the case before the statute of limitations expires.

Your best to lay low and hope they don't file anything, I think if they wait over 6 months they no longer have the right to prosecute.
