    Old Bankruptcy
I filed bankruptcy in 1998, and the case was closed (payed off) in 2001. One of my creditors (The Department of Education) that was listed in the bankruptcy is now taking my tax return monies through the IRS. Are they allowed to return this many years later and take my monies? How can I get information on this type of case? Any information will be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure where to start. IRS will give no help.

There must be a court order to do so, ask the IRS and the Department of educ. For a copy of that court order.
